Dental Implants
Free ConsultationA dental implant is an artificial tooth root made of titanium, placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or other reasons. They are the best alternative to natural teeth—both functionally and aesthetically—providing better chewing and speech than traditional prosthetics while preserving a natural facial appearance.

- *Natural Teeth: Strong and stable, a dental implant restores a lost tooth so that it looks, feels, fits and functions like a natural tooth. Dental implants allow you to keep your teeth where they belong – in your mouth. You can brush, floss and care for implant-replaced teeth exactly the way you would natural teeth.
- *Built to Last: Traditional tooth-supported dental bridges only last five to ten years. While dental implants may need periodic adjustments, they can last a lifetime when properly placed and cared for.
- *Retain Your Natural Face Shape: A face without teeth can sag and appear sunken and sad. Dental implants allow you to maintain the natural shape of your face and smile.
- *Protect Healthy Bone: Leaving empty spaces in your mouth after losing teeth can lead to additional health issues, including the loss and deterioration of jawbone. Dental implants are the only dental restoration option that preserves and stimulates natural bone growth, actively preventing bone loss.
- *Speak Easy: Adjusting to removable dentures can mean struggling to pronounce everyday words. Not so with dental implants, which function exactly like natural teeth.
- *Protect Your Healthy Teeth: Dental implants go in the jawbone in the spot where your missing tooth root was, without impacting healthy adjacent teeth. They also help prevent healthy teeth from shifting as they would if an empty space were left for an extended period.
- *Before The Procedure – Consultation & Planning: To prepare for the process, a thorough evaluation is carried out including a comprehensive exam, dental X-rays, and a personalised treatment plan. The plan takes into account factors such as how many teeth you need replaced and the condition of your jawbone. You are welcome to also check our Patient Journey page for more information about the full process.

How Long Does It Take to Place Dental Implants?
It depends on the number and location of the implants, but simple, uncomplicated dental implant placement usually takes less than an hour per tooth.
What Happens AFTER Dental Implant Treatment?
You may need pain medications or antibiotics after dental implant surgery. If swelling, discomfort or any other problem gets worse in the days after surgery, contact your oral surgeon. After each stage of surgery, you may need to eat soft foods while the surgical site heals. The adaptation/fusing period can last between 3–6 months. After that time passes you'll come back to finalize your treatment.
What Happens During the Dental Implant Procedure?
Dental implant procedure is a multi-staged procedure. Your mouth will be thoroughly numbed with local anesthesia. An incision is made in your gums where the implant will go to expose the bone underneath. The dentist will then use a specialized drill to make a space in the jawbone. The implant is then screwed in place. A healing cap is placed on the implant and will remain during the healing process. At the end of the healing period, which may last 2 to 4 months, the implant has fused to the bone and the final restoration is placed.
Are Dental Implants Painful?
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia so you won't feel pain during surgery. Mild soreness or swelling may occur for a few days after the procedure, which is easily managed with pain relief medication prescribed by your dentist.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?
Most adults in good general health are candidates for dental implants. Ideal candidates should have sufficient jawbone to support the implant, healthy gum tissue, and no uncontrolled chronic illnesses. Our dental team will conduct a thorough evaluation to determine your suitability.
How Long Do Dental Implants Last?
With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown attached to the implant typically lasts 10–15 years before it may need replacing due to normal wear. Regular brushing, flossing and dental check-ups are essential for long-term success.
